To Crawl or Not to Crawl...that is the question!

A Post from Alex's Point of View:

So I finally got two and two together, my legs and arms! I am mobile! WhoHooo! I have found all kinds of cool things the last few days. One is a weird pile of toys that Mom hates when I get close to. I don't know why since Princess and Sabrina get to play with them. I also found all these neat boxes with lights and numbers on them that Daddy FREAKS out when I get close to. And best of all today I found a bowl of water on the ground that I can splash and play in. Mom and Dad both came running when I got there. Today Mom got some good videos of me crawling all over, so check me out.

And today Mom actually let me feed myself. About time too!

Better Watch Out

Okay so this is the second time Mom has typed this since I just decided to help her out. Apparently I accidentally erased everything.

So Mommy has been slacking a little this month letting everyone know what I am up to, but don't be to hard on her 'cause I have kept her pretty busy.

I now have 7 teeth with one more on the way. Although this seems to have kept Mommy and Daddy up at night, I love it since it means I can eat more food. Mom is now letting me feed myself some of these Puff things and rice krispies. I even get to start eating chicken this week. I still haven't mastered the whole sippy cup thing but I do love to chew on them.

As for getting around, Mom and Dad had BETTER WATCH OUT! I am getting the hang of this getting around stuff. I can get just about anywhere scooting around on my rear, and from there I can lay myself out on my tummy and then sit myself back up. This has really made me happier since I can do more of what I want all by myself.

Check out these videos of me talking, scooting and bouncing up a storm!

Oh and as of today, Tuesday March 27, crawling.

Bubbles Bubbles Everywhere

So I learned how to do the coolest new thing. I just blow and blow and bubbles and spit and sometimes food go flying everywhere. To fun! And boy should you see Mom scramble to clean it up!

GRRR GERD

So I have GERD, gastroentero reflux disorder. Not terribly uncommon, but none of the common medicines seem to work for me. I was on Prevacid since the big 2, 2 months, and was doing well but around Christmas all of a sudden it went away completely and then two weeks later came back worse than ever. Now nothing seems to be working and poor Mama and Daddy, cause I just cry all the time. If I am feeling okay then the house is filled with me spitting, laughing, and talking, but all that can change in an instant to inconsolable screams that I don't even want to hear. I know it upsets Mama cause I cry for her and she isn't able to do a thing. Dr. Tarrant, who is so pretty and nice to me, is trying Zantac on me now. The first day was perfect. I got to sleep a lot cause I felt so good, and when I was awake I played with all my toys and even got around to trying to crawl, but today things seem to be back to normal so let the crying and screaming commence. It's true that the smallest person in the house rules and if I am not happy, no one's gonna be happy. I sure hope this medicine starts to work and I feel better soon. Say a prayer for me that the evil GERD goes away forever.

Where's All the Presents

A Post from Alex's Point of View:

So today is the big 6...6 whole months. Boy do I feel old, and the time has really flown. Seems like yesterday that was still trying to sit up, and make these darn fingers grab stuff. Oh, wait that was yesterday!

Well I guess I can't be to hard on myself, I sure have come a long way. I am proud to say that I can now sit, all by myself, pick up my toys, I can almost get a hold of my food before Mom (or Mama as I am now saying) gets it out of my reach.

We went out to dinner tonight and Mom splurged and got a big ole' piece of chocoalte cake. My eyes got huge and I lunged for it, but Daddy caught me and I didn't quite make it. I kept on trying but no luck. What kind of half birthday is this if people are gonna eat cake right in front of me and not share!

I even have teeth now to eat it with. Two whole teeth and another one on the way that will be here soon.

Oh well, guess I'll call it a night and head to bed since I am getting sooooo sleepy.

Steak and Taters Here I Come

A Post from Alex's Point of View:

Food really better be worth it! For the last few weeks I have been in pain. Not discomfort, not aches, but real bad, horrific, pain. Everyone keeps giving me these pitying looks and they don't help a bit.

Who is George Washington?

A Post from Alex's Point of View:

Today Mom, Dad, Grampy, Auntie V, and Uncles Bryan and Jason (and his girlfriend) went to some old guys house to look around. Mom called him President George Washington but I have never heard of him. He must have been a pretty cool guy though ‘cause he has a huge place.

We walked around for a really long time but I was in this cool strappy thing my Daddy has and I was pretty content. Mom even got me a pair of shades for the occasion, so I could keep my eyes open and check everything out.

After all that walking we went to eat at Red Lobster where I got to sit in a high chair for the very first time. I loved that, I could reach and grab menus and all kinds of things off the table.

Now we are home and I am going to kick back and enjoy my new exercauser that Grampy got me.
